With a desire to achieve more, I have always challenged myself to be better. I pursued a degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing, thinking one day that I wanted to have my own business. My college Marketing professor told me that "sales is the toughest discipline in the business world; if you can learn to sell, you can do anything." So I ventured out into the business world looking for sales positions. I’ve built a diverse career, selling advertising, technology, heavy equipment & remodeling- lots and lots of remodeling. I've built and grown several successful businesses. My experience started with buying distressed properties and rehabbing them to either keep as rentals or to flip. That quickly led to establishing a remodeling company and expanding into a property management & preservation business. My home state passed laws requiring Home Inspectors to be licensed and I added this service to our companie’s offering. I focused on growing the remodeling business offerings, including focusing on kitchens, baths, decks, basements, roofing, siding, windows & structural repairs. I added a design-build and handyman division to fully complement the customer life-cycle. HGTV approached us about doing a kitchen remodel show, and I've served as an expert witness in homeowner & contractor disputes.

After years of growing my own businesses, I started the next chapter of my life by helping others achieve their business goals and success via my business consulting and personal achievement coaching business. I've helped remodelers figure out why their new employees keep quitting or have to be fired. I've helped guys who are great craftsmen become equally talented in the art and science of how to sell their service to finally make a profit. I've helped mom-and-pop remodelers grow their businesses from at-home ventures to purchasing a warehouse, an office and by developing their direct marketing and sales campaigns. I've negotiated multi-location kitchen and bath install contracts for remodelers with big box stores. All of these, and many more, experiences led me to founding the Remodeling Academy.

Throughout my career, I’ve earned state licenses as a contractor, remodel salesperson, home inspector, and realtor. Alongside these qualifications, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in managing employees and sales including selling directly to consumers as well as business-to-business, helping me understand the nuances of building trust and delivering value in competitive markets. I've studied psychology, personal behavior and development and I am trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming, all of which have been invaluable in learning how to effectively deal with people, such as my family, loved ones, my employees, my subcontractors, my vendors & most importantly, my clients.

On a personal level, I’m passionate about staying active—whether it’s being in the water for surfing & paddle-boarding, or outside biking, hiking, running and working out. I find fulfillment in helping others grow and succeed, which is why I’ve devoted myself to mentoring and providing guidance for those looking to excel in their own careers. For years I looked to stay out of the limelight as I prefer to be more behind the scenes. Learning to be comfortable and extroverted in front of crowds or on camera has required a conscious decision to push myself outside of my comfort zone. Growing the Remodeling Academy gives me ample opportunities to push myself and excel at helping others achieve greatness. If I can learn to get out there and make it happen, anyone can.
